Bobcat Launchpad Program

bcatfront-1
$25,000 to start a business with the Bobcat Launchpad!

The Bobcat Launchpad (MGT 3735 Entrepreneurship in Practice) will provide real world, hands-on learning on what it’s like to actually start a company. The course will be highly interactive where you will have the opportunity to learn from venture capitalists, crowdfunding experts, community business leaders, and noted entrepreneurs. You will gain an authentic entrepreneurial experience with all of the pressures of an early stage star t-up, learning how to work as a team and turn an idea into a company.

You will talk to customers, partners, and competitors as you encounter the uncertainty of the star t-up process. You will practice evidence-based entrepreneurship as you learn how to use a business model to brainstorm each part of a company, as well as practice customer development as you get out of the classroom to see whether anyone other than you would want or use your product or service. The program will culminate in you pitching your business bcatback_centered-1for the opportunity to receive investment funding and continued start-up support.

Students will compete for:

Bobcat LaunchPad Mentoring Partnerships: You will be partnered with one or more partners including Ohio University’s Innovation Center, TechGROWTH Ohio, Chamber of Commerce, Small Business Development Center, and other regional business incubators and mentors.

Bobcat LaunchPad Funding: You will have the opportunity to compete for up to $25,000 to support the growth of your start-up business.
