Nano Startup Challenge

Deadline: February 11th, 2016

Host: The National Cancer Institute’s Alliance for Nanotechnology in Cancer and Center for Advancing Innovation

Overview: Nanotechnology is the next frontier in cancer detection, diagnosis, and treatment. There are many discoveries in nano technology and this competition will help to accelerate the development and commercialization of the inventions. This competition will feature 8 NIH intramural inventions that can “be applied to cancer interventions, are important to public health, and have commercial viability.”

As a team you will select one of these inventions, or a alternative commercially viable cancer-related nanotechnology, and build a startup based business for the invention.

Space Race

The SPACE RACE Challenge

Deadline: March 27th, 2016

Host: NASA and Center for Advancing Innovation (CAI)

Overview: Are you fascinated by the final frontier? This space based challenge is definitely for you. This challenge wants to encourage the creation and use of space technology and space technology spin-offs by entrepreneurs. In partnership with the CAI, the challenge will provide entrepreneurial teams will a portfolio of near-term commercialization technologies for the teams to then write business plans around. Seed funding and cash prizes are just some of the potential benefits of participating in this competition, because, I mean, you get to work with NASA’s space age technology. And that is pretty cool all on its own.

Values and Venture Business Plan Competition

Deadline: February 15th, 2016

Host: Texas Christian University

Overview: Have an innovative idea for a for-profit company that can impact society in meaningful ways? This competition is looking for entrepreneurial undergraduates that are developing ventures that will have a positive impact on society.
